Dr. Tibbetts, completed his BS and MS in Pathogenic Microbiology at North Dakota State University studying the pathobiology of E. coli and his Ph.D. in the Department of Comparative Pathobiology at the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine emphasizing virulence and multiple antimicrobial resistance in Salmonella. Following a 2-year fellowship in clinical microbiology and public health in the Division of Laboratory and Genomic medicine, Department of Pathology and Immunology at Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine he joined the Henry Ford Health System (HFHS) as the Associate Director of Microbiology, and is the CLIA Director for several HFHS Medical Centers and the Special Pathogens Unit where he remains. His passion for education has resulted in his position as Assistant Director of the Pathology resident program and Co-Chairman of the Clinical Pathology On-call Conference in the Department of Pathology at Henry Ford Health.
