Celina is an epidemiologist at the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Celina earned her master’s in public health with a focus in epidemiology from John’s Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in 2019. She also completed an Applied Epidemiology Fellowship through the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE) from 2020-2022. Celina’s current work focuses on the surveillance of antimicrobial-resistant bacteria as well as analyzing and identifying patterns of inappropriate antibiotic prescribing in NYC aimed at informing antibiotic stewardship initiatives to improve prescribing practices in outpatient settings in NYC.
