Capt. Oscar E. Gallardo-Huizar, MD MSc is an Infectious Disease fellow physician at Brooke Army Medical Center. He completed his professional medical degree in Mexico, followed by a Masters of Science in Organizational Leadership in San Diego, CA at National University, prior to an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at UCLA-Olive View Medical Center. He was commisioned as an officer in the United States Air Force during this time, and subsequently served as the Chief of Medical Residents at Olive View Medical Center prior to matriculation into his current Infectious Disease fellowship. He has research interests in infectious diseases that disproportionally affect underrepresented minorities in medicine such as Chagas Disease.
