Jovan Borjan, PharmD, BCIDP is an infectious diseases (ID) clinical pharmacy specialist at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston (MDACC). He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the UIC College of Pharmacy at the University of Illinois in Chicago, where he stayed on to complete a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency before pursuing a PGY2 Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Residency at MDACC. Upon completing the PGY2 program in 2019, Jovan stayed on at MDACC as a board-certified clinical pharmacy specialist in ID. He maintains a clinical practice by rounding on ID consult services (Leukemia, Stem Cell Transplant, Lymphoma, Solid Tumor, Hospital Medicine), leading institutional Antimicrobial Stewardship Program (ASP) initiatives, and precepting trainees. Jovan’s main area of interest and expertise is antimicrobial resistance and stewardship in the immunocompromised host. During his time at MDACC his research participation has revolved around understanding and managing gram-negative resistance and COVID-19 in patients with cancer.
