By training, I am a physician and an epidemiologist, and by passion, an avid street photographer. I have completed my Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) followed by a master’s degree in public health. At present, I am pursuing my MSc in Applied Infectious Disease Epidemiology at the University College London (UCL). I am also working as a Research Investigator in the Programme for Emerging and Re-emerging Pathogens at the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b). My current role at icddr,b involves investigating the epidemiological and clinical aspects of Nipah virus disease (NiVD) and infectious acute encephalitis syndrome in humans. I am also engaged in NiVD outbreak response and the coordination of activities pertaining to National Nipah virus surveillance in Bangladesh.
