My name is Jordan Kim (B.S. / MPH) and I am a lead research specialist at Emory University. I received my Bachelors of Science from the University of Oregon, where I studied biochemistry and the interactions between membrane bound proteins. Afterwards I received my Masters in Public Health at the University of Michigan School of Public Health where I studied hospital and molecular epidemiology and performed laboratory research on oral bacteria associated with dental caries. I was then selected for a fellowship at the CDC, under the Clinical and Environmental Microbiology Branch. There I studied the formation of biofilms caused by common freshwater bacteria. I then began professional work at the Health Sciences Research Building at Emory University, where I currently work. I am studying the interactions of Staphylococcus aureus supernatant with human blood plasma, and anaylzing infection rates in patients who have recieved Left Ventricular Assist Devices over a 25 year time span.
