Louis Kuritzky, MD, is a Family Medicine physician currently serving as clinical faculty for the HCA-UCF Family Medicine Residency Program (Gainesville, Florida). Dr Kuritzky also holds the title of Clinical Assistant Professor Emeritus in the Department of Community Health and Family Medicine, University of Florida (Gainesville, Florida), where he continues to teach. He completed his internship at Miami Valley Hospital (Dayton, Ohio) in 1973.
Dr Kuritzky has published over 175 articles in scientific journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine, JAMA, and Clinical Diabetes. He is board certified in Family Medicine and is also certified by the American Society of Hypertension as a Specialist in Hypertension.
Dr Kuritzky has spent most of his career educating health professionals. His areas of expertise, as demonstrated by his publications and presentations, include the majority of core topics pertinent to primary care clinicians (e.g., hypertension, diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular diseases, pneumonia, sexually transmitted infections), as well as more esoteric topics such as the interpretation of medical statistics, and rare or ‘orphan diseases’ (e.g., neurogenic orthostatic hypotension, transthyretin amyloidosis).
Dr Kuritzky has presented hundreds of lectures, live and recorded, to diverse audiences throughout the United States and Europe.
