Andrew Wang, Medical Student at Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, first discovered his passion for medicine on the basketball court, where sports injuries sparked an early curiosity about healing and recovery. As an undergraduate, he expanded this interest through organizing mobile clinics and leading health education efforts across rural Georgia, where he witnessed firsthand how geography, income, and insurance status intersect to create barriers to care. These experiences shaped his commitment to health equity and drew him to infectious diseases, a field that sits at the intersection of clinical care, prevention, and community health. Andrew continues to explore how equity-focused approaches within infectious diseases, as in orthopedics and rehabilitative care, can restore health, prevent disability, and improve lives.
