Dr. Jennie H. Kwon is the Gene Stollerman Professor of Medicine and Chief of Infectious Diseases at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. The Kwon Lab focuses on the epidemiology, transmission, and prevention of infections due to antibiotic resistant organisms (ARO) and Clostridium difficile. Dr. Kwon conducts clinical and translational research assessing the fecal microbiome in patients with ARO infections, and the role of the microbiome of the built environment in ARO and C. difficile transmission. She conducts her research both in the laboratory and the patient bedside. Dr. Kwon’s work has been funded by the CDC, NIH, AHRQ, and multiple foundations. Dr. Kwon was the 2016-2018 National Academy of Medicine (NAM) Anniversary Fellow, is currently a member of the SHEA Board of Trustees and IDSA Leadership Institute Alumni Advisory Group. Dr. Kwon’s experiences as a clinician, scientist, and public health advocate encompass her interests to translate the latest research findings into better quality care and outcomes for patients.
