Madeline DiLorenzo, MD, received her medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed her internal medicine residency at Boston Medical Center (BMC) and her infectious diseases fellowship at the New York University (NYU) Grossman School of Medicine. Prior to medical school, she worked on public health research and programmatic initiatives in Ethiopia, Mali, Togo, and Vietnam with the Clinton Health Access Initiative and the African Society for Laboratory Medicine. At BMC, she co-led a group of house staff working with the Infection Control Department on evidence-based protocols and the acquisition of personal protective equipment during the COVID-19 pandemic. While a fellow at NYU, she worked with the Bellevue Special Pathogens Program on research projects pertaining to respiratory viruses and mpox and with the International Rescue Committee on a study pertaining to knowledge, attitudes, and practices towards antimicrobial resistance in Nigeria. She is currently a clinical assistant professor of medicine at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine, an attending physician at NYU Tisch Hospital and Bellevue Hospital, and an associate hospital epidemiologist at NYU Tisch. Her research interests include high consequence pathogens, diagnostic and antimicrobial stewardship, and prevention of hospital acquired infections/infection control.
