Megan E. Dieterich, MPH, MMSc, PA-C, AAHIVS, is a Physician Assistant, HIV care specialist, and clinical researcher with over 15 years of experience in public health and implementation science. Her work is grounded in a commitment to health equity and improving outcomes for communities disproportionately impacted by HIV.
Since 2010, Megan has been a primary care provider at Whitman-Walker Health in Washington, DC, where she delivers compassionate, comprehensive care with a focus on HIV treatment and prevention, gender-affirming care, hepatitis C therapy, and substance use disorder management. She also leads the Mobile Outreach Retention and Engagement (MORE) program, which brings home-based medical care to individuals living with HIV with complex structural and health barriers to accessing traditional clinic services.
Megan serves as Principal Investigator (PI) for several investigator-initiated, industry-funded studies. These include the CREATE study, evaluating home delivery of long-acting injectable HIV treatment, and the INCLUSION trial, which explores the delivery of lenacapavir for PrEP in non-traditional care settings. She serves as the PI for the EBONI study, a Phase 4 implementation trial aimed at expanding access to injectable PrEP for Black cisgender and transgender women.
In addition to her role as PI, Megan is a Sub-Investigator on multiple industry-sponsored trials and NIH-funded research through the AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG), with a focus on treatment and cure strategies for HIV, hepatitis C, and hepatitis B.
Beyond her clinical and research work, Megan contributes to the training of future health professionals as a volunteer adjunct clinical professor at the Yale School of Medicine.
