Dr. Cohen is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Washington and the Medical Director of Infection Prevention at UW Medical Center. Dr. Cohen has attended on Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center Infectious Disease service at UW and currently attends on the ID consult service at UW Medical Center. He is passionate about medical education and co-directs the annual Tropical Medicine elective (GH561) and Clinical Infectious Disease elective in the UW School of Medicine. Dr. Cohen specializes in caring for patients who may have compromised immune systems due to cancer, transplantation, or autoimmune disease, as well as people living with HIV. He is especially interested in general infectious diseases, including sexually transmitted infections, surgical infections and travel, and tropical medicine.
Dr. Cohen received his Master of Science in epidemiology from the University of Washington, where he also completed a fellowship in Infectious Diseases. Dr. Cohen did his residency, and served as chief resident, at the University of California, San Francisco.
