I am a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Infectious Diseases at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and Director of Antimicrobial Stewardship at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. I completed my medical training at Rush Medical College, pediatric residency training at Weill Cornell Medical Center, and pediatric infectious diseases fellowship training at the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital of New York at Columbia University Medical Center. I have also obtained a Master’s in Public Health from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University. My primary role at my institution is to coordinate efforts to promote the judicious use of antimicrobials. My previous grant funding has included research in antimicrobial stewardship, patient safety and quality, hospital epidemiology, and advocacy. I have also engaged in efforts to reduce excess antibiotic use in food production, including direct legislative advocacy, public education, and training of healthcare workers.
