Medical Epidemiologist

Dr. Elizabeth Dufort is a pediatric infectious diseases physician and medical epidemiologist at the Minnesota Department of Health. She completed her medical education at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine, Pediatrics residency at New York University/Bellevue Hospital, and Pediatric Infectious Diseases Fellowship at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University/Hasbro Children’s Hospital. She previously served as Medical Director in the Division of Epidemiology and the Emerging Infections Program at the New York State Department of Health, and has prior experience in global health and HIV as faculty with Indiana and Moi Universities and the Academic Model Providing Access To Healthcare (AMPATH) program in Kenya. Dr. Dufort's interests, practice, and research are driven by the needs of the communities she serves and include emerging infections, outbreak response, and applied public health data to action.
