Angelique Boutzoukas is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Duke University and Faculty at the Duke Clinical Research Institute. She completed her undergraduate and medical training at the University of Florida, her pediatrics residency training at Nationwide Children's Hospital, and her pediatric infectious diseases fellowship at Duke University, during which she obtained a Master of Public Health Degree at University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Her research focuses on the epidemiology of Gram-negative antimicrobial resistance in children and adults, as well as methods to define optimal dose and duration of therapy in children with infections. She is a PI of pediatric clinical trials through the Pediatric Trials Network, the recipient of an NIH career development award to define optimal empiric antimicrobial therapy in preterm infants evaluated for early onset sepsis, and an investigator with the Antibacterial Resistance Leadership Group. Through the ARLG she has led several efforts focused on the epidemiology and outcomes of highly resistant Gram-negative infections.
