Pediatric Infectious Diseases specialist, Associate Professor in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Chile in the Department of Pediatrics and the Division of Infectious Diseases at the Children's Hospital Luis Calvo Mackenna in Santiago. Vice Dean at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Chile.
Research Fellowship and Postdoctoral studies in Pediatric Infectious Diseases in Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, University of Texas in the field of respiratory infections.
He has more than 100 peer-reviewed ISI manuscripts and 5 book chapters mainly in the field of respiratory viral infections in the immunocompromised and immunocompetent children, bacterial infections in children with cancer, molecular diagnosis and vaccines. Vice President and President elect of the Sociedad Latinoamericana de Infectología Pediática (SLIPE). Emerging leader at the Intenational Society of Infectious Diseases (ISID) and member of the Board of the World Society for Pediatric Infectious Diseases (WSPID). Researcher at the Instituto Sistemas Complejos de Ingeniería (ISCI) in Chile and member of the team that won the Franz Edelman Award 2022, for the development of analytical tools during the COVID-19 pandemic.
