Courtney Russ-Friedman, FNP-BC, MSN, is the Lead Advanced Practice Provider in the Department of Medicine, Section on Infectious Diseases, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. She helps lead the Infectious Diseases Transitions of Care and Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Therapy (OPAT) programs. She is also an active member of the Quality Leadership Council Safety Committee and chairs the Advanced Practice Provider Orientation Committee at Wake Forest.
Courtney earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania, where she was honored with the Theresa I. Lynch Award for her outstanding contributions to the advancement of the School of Nursing. She has held roles as a faculty lecturer and course coordinator and continues to serve as a guest lecturer in the Adult, Family, and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner programs at the University of Pennsylvania.
Her clinical interests include OPAT, quality and safety, infectious disease management in persons who inject drugs, antimicrobial stewardship, and the treatment of prosthetic joint and hardware-associated infections.
