Dr. Mark R. Hutchinson MD is a Distinguished Professor of Othopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago where he also holds a adjunct Professorship in the Department of Family Medicine. Dr. Hutchinson has served as Head Team Physician at the University for 32 years and served Team USA, USA Basketaball, USA Volleyball, USA Gymnastics, USA Soccer, USA Field Hockey as team or event physician including three World University Games, 3 Pan America Games and 6 Olympic/Paralympic Games including both winter and summer sports. In those roles, Dr. Hutchinson has managed the holistic health of all athletes and team members including but not limited to infectious disease diagnoses, treatment, and prevenion prototcols. Dr. Hutchinson has edited/authored 8 books, 61 book chapters, 108 peer reviewed articles, and over 350 book reviews. He is currently President of the American College of Sports Medicine and has served in leadership roles for a number of national and international organizations.
