Dr. Michael Pulia is a tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Emergency at the University of Wisconsin (UW) Madison School of Medicine & Public Health. He earned his medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at the University of Illinois-Chicago, serving as a Chief Resident. He completed his PhD in Clinical Investigations at UW-Madison. He leads the Emergency Care for Infectious Diseases (EC-ID) research program which focuses on application of systems engineering guided interventions to improve the diagnosis, management, and prevention of infectious diseases.  His research has been supported by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, NIH/NIAID, National Academy of Medicine, and CDC.
