Florence Momplaisir is an Associate Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases and Senior Fellow of the Penn Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics. Her clinical research focuses on improving postpartum retention and viral suppression of women with HIV and on decreasing racial disparities in HIV prevalence among U.S. populations. She serves as Director of the Penn Center For AIDS Research Implementation Science Core and in this capacity, she oversees consultative services, connects collaborators, and pursues shared initiatives with multiple other research centers and institutes at Penn. She has mentored trainees across the academic spectrum. She co-leads the Penn CFAR Scholars’ Program and Summer for Infection Disease Research program which aims to increase the pool of interested and academically prepared students for careers in biomedical research or academic medicine. She serves as a member of the George W. Counts Interest Group of the Infectious Diseases Society of America.
