Ronnie “Matt” Gravett MD, MSPH (He/Him/His) is a clinician researcher and Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Heersink School of Medicine. At UAB, he completed his clinical fellowship in Infectious Diseases as well as the AHRQ T32 Postdoctoral fellowship in Health Services, Outcomes, and Effectiveness Research. He serves as the Medical Director of HIV Prevention at UAB, leading the PrEP Clinic, and also cares for patients living with HIV at the 1917 Clinic. His research focuses on the biomedical prevention of HIV, including PrEP promotion, PrEP preferences, and innovative PrEP implementation strategies as well as clinical trials of novel HIV prevention products. Dr. Gravett advocates that inclusivity and affirmation are the remedy for stigma, and he centers these principles in all aspects of his work.
