Rami Kantor, MD

Rami Kantor, MD, is a physician-scientist in internal medicine and infectious diseases, and Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Brown University. He joined Brown in 2005, where he completed his clinical infectious diseases fellowship, following a postdoctoral HIV research fellowship at Stanford University. Dr. Kantor directs the Drug Resistance Laboratory at the Providence-Boston Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) and co-directs the CFAR Basic Science Core. He serves on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Guidelines Panel for HIV Treatment in Adults and Adolescents, and is Deputy Editor and Editorial Board Member of the Journal of the International AIDS Society. His NIH-funded, multidisciplinary research program investigates the evolution and clinical impact of HIV drug resistance, treatment monitoring, and HIV transmission within networks across diverse populations and national and international settings. Dr. Kantor is also committed to teaching and mentorship, having guided numerous undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty in their professional development.
