Boston Children's Hospital
Kristin Moffitt, MD is an Associate Physician in Infectious Diseases at Boston Children’s Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. She joined the faculty of the Division of Infectious Diseases at BCH in 2010. She attends on the inpatient infectious diseases services at BCH and sees patients in the Travel and Geographic Medicine Clinic. With support from the NIH and several philanthropic foundations, her research has focused on how bacteria cause disease and how effective immune responses develop in humans. She has been PI of several translational studies of pediatric S. aureus infections and oversees a biorepository study of invasive bacterial infections in children with the goal of identifying host and bacterial factors associated with susceptibility to infection and clinical outcomes. Findings from her research program can inform development of improved biomarker-based diagnostics and interventions for bacterial infections.
