Sarah M. McLeod, Ph.D., is Senior Director of Clinical Microbiology at Innoviva Specialty Therapeutics, Inc. (IST). Dr. McLeod has over 15 years of experience in antibacterial research and development, first at AstraZeneca and then at Entasis Therapeutics, which would later become part of IST. Sarah was part of the team responsible for the successful development of sulbactam-durlobactam.
Dr. McLeod obtained a Bachelor of Arts in biochemistry from Wellesley College and a Ph.D. in biological chemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Medicine. She did her post-doctoral research at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
