Jeffrey Freiberg, MD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases within the Department of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia before earning both a medical degree and a PhD in molecular microbiology and immunology from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He completed both his Internal Medicine residency and Infectious Diseases fellowship at VUMC before joining faculty in 2023. Dr. Freiberg's research focuses on antimicrobial resistance, antibiotic treatment failure, and antibiotic stewardship with a particular emphasis on Staphylococcus aureus and biofilm infections.
