Sean R. Van Helden, PharmD, is a fellowship-trained pharmacist specializing in infectious diseases research. His work focuses on the development of novel antimicrobial agents, innovative strategies to eradicate drug-resistant biofilms, and the therapeutic potential of bacteriophages in combination with antibiotics for the treatment of multidrug-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa infections.
Dr. Van Helden earned his PharmD from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and completed an acute care pharmacy residency at Stanford Health Care. He is currently a postdoctoral fellow at the Anti-Infective Research Laboratory at Wayne State University, studying under Dr. Michael J. Rybak, PharmD, MPH, PhD.
