Mark Kristoffer Pasayan is an Internal Medicine – Infectious Disease Specialist at the Department of Health’s Research Institute for Tropical Medicine. Additionally, the head of the institute’s AIDS Research Group - HIV Clinic.
He obtained his medical degree from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine. He pursued his fellowship training in infectious diseases at the RITM and subsequently underwent further training at the Sendai Medical Center in Japan and the New York Presbyterian Hospital – Weill Cornell Medical College in New York. He holds the titles of diplomate and fellow of the Philippine College of Physicians, as well as a diplomate, fellow, and member of the National Board of the Philippine Society for Microbiology and Infectious Diseases.
He holds the position of clinical director at The Medical City South Luzon’s Center for Reproductive Health and STI Treatment. Also, he serves as the chair of the Department of Internal Medicine at Calamba Medical Center and the chair of Healthway Medical Network’s Infection Prevention and Control Council.
His research interests encompass HIV-associated opportunistic infections, HIV treatment and prophylaxis, immunization, viral hepatitis, vector-borne diseases, and neglected tropical diseases. He is a co-primary investigator at TREAT Asia, a collaborative research network in Asia-Pacific. His publications have been featured in journals such as the Journal of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndromes, the Journal of the International AIDS Society, and The Lancet HIV.
