Livia Frost, MD candidate (expected 2026), is a fourth-year medical student at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) pursuing the Medical Humanities Pathway. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Health (with a concentration in Infectious Diseases) from The University of Texas at Austin, where she graduated with high honors, and a Diploma in Tropical Medicine (2025). Her research focuses on HIV therapeutics, global tropical medicine training, and the challenges of diagnostics for complex infections. She has publications in Advances in Skin & Wound Care, Advances in Nursing Science, American Journal of Medicine, Nursing Outlook, Current Opinion in Nephrology and Hypertension, Clinical Nephrology, and JSES International.
Passionate about mentorship and education, she serves as President of BCM’s Infectious Disease Interest Group, organizing events about career paths, the history of infectious diseases, and emerging diseases. Her public health background-including contact tracing 1,700+ COVID-19 cases while employed by Austin Public Health and tuberculosis epidemiology research in Kenya with KEMRI and the CDC-give her frontline experience in outbreak response and health disparities, informing her approach to infectious diseases.
Outside of medicine, Livia enjoys running, cooking, and reading books about history and culture.
