Ukamaka (Amaka) Modebelu, M.Pharm, is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Her research focuses on population pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, with an emphasis on antiviral drug development and optimizing therapies for infectious diseases. She began her in silico modeling work at the Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research in Milan and has also contributed as a consultant at Toxhub in Rome. Amaka’s current work centers on modeling antiviral agents, including ensitrelvir for the treatment of COVID-19, to inform clinical dosing strategies. Through her involvement with the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) and the International Society of Pharmacometrics (ISoP), she actively builds professional networks and supports initiatives that advance the field of pharmaceutical sciences.
