Dr. Alison Hixon, MD, PhD, is a second-year ID fellow at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. She completed her PhD in the lab of Dr. Ken Tyler at the University of Colorado, where she studied the pathogenesis of enterovirus D68 CNS infection in a mouse model. Her clinical interests include transplant ID, hospital epidemiology, and MDR bacterial infections, and she generally loves taking care of complicated patients. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, exploring on her bicycle, and bird-watching.
