Andrew W. Hill, MD is a current Pediatric Infectious Diseases fellow at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Uniformed Services University. Originally from rural Oklahoma, Dr. Hill earned his bachelor’s degree in Zoology and Classical Culture at the University of Oklahoma before completing medical school at USUHS and pediatric residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii.
Before fellowship, he served in a wide range of leadership and clinical roles, including Pediatric Hospitalist and Operational Unit Medical Officer in both stateside and deployed settings. His clinical and operational experiences have shaped his passion for global health, military medicine, and infections in vulnerable pediatric populations.
His academic interests include vaccine-preventable diseases, HIV education and research, and health systems improvement in both inpatient and austere environments. In addition to clinical care and research, Dr. Hill is an enthusiastic and active teacher of the medical learner.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys, national parks, comic books, and travel. He lives in the Washington, DC area with his husband and is always on the hunt for a perfect espresso.
