Kellie L. Fortier, PharmD, BCPS is the antimicrobial stewardship pharmacy lead for Banner Health. She completed her Doctor of Pharmacy in 2003 and her PGY1 residency in 2004 both at The University of Arizona. After residency, she took a position as an ICU clinical pharmacist who liked infectious diseases at Banner Baywood Medical Center. During that position she discovered she was passionate about antimicrobial stewardship and later completed the antimicrobial stewardship certificate program through SIDP. She helped to establish the antimicrobial stewardship program at Banner Health by developing the system role while working at a facility. In 2022, she moved full time into the system antimicrobial stewardship position where she is responsible for spearheading projects, clinical practices, development of stewardship resources and education, and review of data related to antimicrobial stewardship practices within the health system. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, listening to live music, line dancing, and trying to get her teenage sons to hang out with her. Her retirement goal is to live on a beach and teach line dancing.
