Dan Livorsi is an Infectious Disease physician, a health services researcher, and an Associate Professor at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. He has been involved in antibiotic stewardship programs for over a decade, and he currently serves as the Medical Director for Antibiotic Stewardship within the Iowa City VA Healthcare System. During his career, he has used mixed methods to identify opportunities to improve antibiotic use while also exploring strategies to better promote antibiotic stewardship. He is actively funded by both the VA and the CDC to study antibiotic stewardship in a variety of healthcare settings, including Urgent Care clinics and acute-care hospitals.
