Kyle T. Enriquez is an MSTP Student at Vanderbilt University Medical Center with an M.Sc. in Biology and B.S. in Chemistry from Stanford University. He has a passion for Infectious Disease and the immunocompromised host, and has worked closely with the Transplant ID team at VUMC since matriculating in 2020. Clinically, his work has focused on a wide variety of infectious etiology that afflict the immunocompromised, including IFIs in AML, viral infections as a complication of the use of biologics, the incidence and qualities of bacterial UTI in CF patients, and most recently as part of the nationwide efforts of the COVID-19 and Cancer Consortium (CCC19).
At the bench, Kyle is focused primarily on biofilm formation and manipulation, particularly when it comes to applying novel anti-microbial strategies to these clinically relevant bacterial communities. He has worked with Prof. Lynette Cegelski in evaluating uropathogenic E. coli biofilm response to small molecule treatment, and is currently completing rotations in the Pathology, Microbiology, and Immunology Department at Vanderbilt.
Kyle has presented at IDWeek 2019 in Washington D.C. with Dr. Dora Ho, and is excited to be back once again to learn from and engage with the Transplant ID community.
