Dr. Ashlan J. Kunz Coyne is an Assistant Professor at the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy and an infectious diseases pharmacy specialist. Her expertise lies in antimicrobial pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics (PK/PD), with a focus on optimizing conventional and novel therapeutic regimens to combat multidrug-resistant bacteria and improve patient outcomes.
Dr. Kunz Coyne earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida, followed by post-graduate training at UF Health Jacksonville, where she completed a residency in acute care pharmacy practice and a specialty residency in infectious diseases. She further advanced her expertise through a postdoctoral research fellowship in PK/PD and health outcomes pharmacotherapy at Wayne State University under the mentorship of Dr. Michael J. Rybak. Concurrently, she completed a Master’s degree in Health Data Analytics.
