Angela L. Myers MD, MPH, completed her medical degree in 2001 at the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC) School of Medicine (SOM). Following her pediatric residency and fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at Children’s Mercy Kansas City (CMKC), she completed a master’s degree in public health with distinction from the University of Kansas. She is currently a Professor of Pediatrics at UMKC SOM and served as the Division Director of Pediatric Infectious Diseases at CMKC from 2018-2025. In 2021 she took on the role of Medical Director for the Center for Wellbeing and transitioned to Chief Wellbeing Officer in early 2025. Recently, Dr. Myers has served on several boards including PIDS, American Board of Pediatrics Pediatric ID Subboard, Council of Pediatric Subspecialties, and on the AAP Committee on Infectious Diseases. Dr. Myers has authored >95 peer reviewed manuscripts and 15 book chapters. She has served as the primary investigator on 8 funded grants, primarily focused on vaccine acceptance. Dr. Myers was awarded the Clinical Advances in Pediatrics Faculty Award in 2015 for outstanding teaching and support of community pediatricians, the Department of Pediatrics Established Career Award for Clinical Care Achievement in 2018, and the Department of Pediatrics COVID-19 Leadership Award in 2021.
