Dr. James "Brad" Cutrell is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases and Geographic Medicine at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He serves as the Medical Director for Antimicrobial Stewardship at Clements University Hospital and the adult ID fellowship program director at UT Southwestern. His clinical and research interests include antimicrobial stewardship, COVID-19, cardiovascular and MSK infections, OPAT and medical education in ID.
He serves as the Chair of the ID Week Workgroup for the Medical Education COP of IDSA. He is a Past President of the Southwestern Academy of Teachers and the Texas ID Society. He has received multiple teaching awards and clinical care awards during his tenure at UT Southwestern.
