Alexander McAdam, MD, PhD, D(ABMM) (he/him/his)

Alex McAdam is a clinical microbiologist and the Chief of the Department of Laboratory Medicine at Boston Children's Hospital. His interests in clinical microbiology are in bacteriology and antibiotic susceptibility testing. Dr. McAdam's research is on the utility of diagnostic tests for infectious diseases in children and on evolution of bacteria during chronic infections. He is an Editor of the "Manual of Clinical Microbiology" and the "Manual of Molecular Microbiology," and is the previous Editor-in-Chief of the "Journal of Clinical Microbiology." Dr. McAdam is the President of the American Society for Microbiology.
