Dr. Andermann is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Immunocompromised Host Infectious Diseases at UNC Chapel Hill. The Andermann Lab integrates short-read shotgun metagenomic and long-read Nanopore sequencing to investigate the antimicrobial gut “resistome” and AMR-specific horizontal gene transfer events in the gut under antibiotic and chemotherapy/immunotherapy pressure. She aims to determine how antimicrobial resistance gene dynamics predict the risk of infectious complications of immune-suppressive therapy in patients with cancer.
