Dr. Apewokin is an Associate Professor of Medicine and the founding director of the Transplant Infectious Disease Service at the University of Cincinnati (UC) College of Medicine. He also runs an NIH-funded lab that focuses on identifying host factors that confer protection and, conversely, correlates of adverse outcomes for human diseases. His particular focus is on host-microbe interactions during immunosuppressive events such as cancer chemotherapy and organ transplantation.
