Dr. Emily McDonald is an associate professor of medicine in general internal medicine at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She is the Director of the Canadian Medication Appropriateness and Deprescribing Network (funded by Canada's Drug Agency) and is co-founder of WikiGuidelines. She is the first author of the Endocarditis WikiGuideline published in JAMA Network Open. Dr. McDonald is a clinical trialist and leads multisite international trials in infectious disease and is a member of the international steering committess of BALANCE+ and the Staph aureus network adaptive platform (SNAP). She is an associate editor at ESCMID's official open access journal, CMI communications, and co-hosts the journal podcast, Communicable. She has an expertise in early oral switch and antibiotic durations, dosing, and head-to-head comparative effectiveness trials.
