Dr. Josh Havens is an Associate Clinical Professor in the College of Pharmacy at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). He also holds an appointment in the Department of Internal Medicine/Infectious Diseases at UNMC. Dr. Havens earned his PharmD from UNMC and is currently pursuing a PhD in Clinical & Translational Research at UNMC.
Dr. Havens' expertise lies in HIV pharmacotherapy, pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), and the implementation of pharmacy-based services for people with HIV. His research broadly focuses on antiretroviral therapies for HIV treatment and prevention, ART pharmacokinetics, substance use disorders, chronic cardiometabolic comorbidities, and the implementation of innovative HIV treatment and prevention strategies using long-acting injectables.
