Dr. Cortés-Penfield is an associate professor in Infectious Diseases at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC), where he serves as medical director of both the Orthopedic ID service and the Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy program. Dr. Cortés-Penfield's academic work is focused on the management of musculoskeletal infections and the effective translation of infectious disease literature into evidence-based practice; his other academic interests include clinical ethics and medical education.
