James S. Lewis II, PharmD, FIDSA, is the Pharmacy Supervisor and Co-Director of Antibiotic Stewardship at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) and serves as an adult infectious diseases clinical pharmacist for OHSU. He is also a professor of medicine in the division of infectious diseases and is the co-chair of the antibiotic subcommittee of the pharmacy and therapeutics committee.
His professional interests are antibiotic susceptibility testing, mechanisms of drug resistance, antibiotic/antifungal utilization, and the optimal integration of rapid microbiology diagnostics in antibiotic stewardship. Dr. Lewis currently serves as the vice-chair of the antimicrobial susceptibility testing subcommittee of the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) and is a former chair of the CLSI breakpoint working group.
