Paul G. Mitchell, MD is a fellow in Pediatric Infectious Diseases at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He received his undergraduate degree in Biology with a minor in History from The College of New Jersey and his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. He completed his pediatric residency at the Oregon Health and Science University in Portland, Oregon. He then completed a year as a General Pediatrics Instructor and Newborn Hospitalist at OHSU before fellowship. Dr. Mitchell's research interests are around public health interventions, vaccines, legislative advocacy, and newcomer/immigrant health. His main fellowship projects currently are a Susceptible-Infected-Recovered (SIR)-based modeling study using vaccination data from Colorado schools to model potential measles outbreaks and public health interventions as well as a review of Newcomer/Immigrant infectious and non-infectious lab testing positivity at our institution to better inform targeted screening in these patients.
