Deesha Bhojwani is a second-year infectious disease fellow at the University of Missouri–Columbia, where she also completed her internal medicine residency. She was drawn to ID by the opportunity to combine clinical detective work with compassionate patient care, and hopes to continue growing as a well-rounded clinician. During the rest of fellowship, she plans to focus on strengthening her clinical skills, pursuing a QI project, and contributing review articles. She plans to practice general ID in an academic setting with a particular interest in HIV care in future. Beyond medicine, she finds joy in dancing, traveling, and cooking — pursuits that not only bring balance but also fuel the curiosity and creativity she brings back into her work.
