Dr Disebo Potloane, (MBChB, Dip. HIV Man) is a Clinician at the Centre for the AIDS Programme of Research in South Africa (CAPRISA). She is currently the Site Director of the CAPRISA Vulindlela Clinical Research Site (VCRS), located in KwaZulu Natal, South Africa. She has a special interests in HIV Epidemiology and Prevention as well as the vaginal microbiome, with the main focus of preventing new HIV infections in young women. She oversees the studies being conducted at the VCRS to ensure ethical conduct of the research, integrity of trial data and the safety of trial participants. She currently serves at the Investigator of Record for the PURPOSE 1, CAPRISA 012C and MK-8527-010 trials and is the PI for the Vaginal LIve Biotherapeutic RANdomized Trial – VIBRANT.
