Dr. Vidya Mony is a Pediatric Infectious Diseases physician and Associate Hospital Epidemiologist (for both adult and pediatrics) at Santa Clara Valley Healthcare, the largest safety net hospital in Northern California. She is a Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics (Affiliated) at Stanford University School of Medicine and has dedicated her career to keeping children and healthcare systems safe from infectious threats. In her leadership roles, she has helped guide her hospital through challenges ranging from COVID-19 to seasonal viral surges, and she continues to work on local initiatives addressing congenital syphilis and pediatric tuberculosis and has now delved further into working into the health impacts of climate change.
Beyond the hospital, Dr. Mony is deeply engaged with the community. She has partnered with public health leaders in Santa Clara County to support vaccination campaigns, led educational efforts for families during the pandemic, and continues to be a trusted resource for parents navigating infectious disease concerns. Nationally, she serves with IDSA, PIDS, and SHEA, and has authored influential publications on infection prevention and pediatric infectious diseases. Recognized as a fellow of multiple societies, she is known for bringing the science of infectious diseases to life in ways that are practical, compassionate, and centered on the wellbeing of children, families, and communities.
