Laila Woc-Colburn, MD, is a professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Emory University School of Medicine. She graduated from Universidad Francisco MarroquĂn in Guatemala and completed her internal medicine residency at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago. Following that, she pursued a fellowship in infectious diseases and HIV medicine at Case Western University in Cleveland. Additionally, she earned a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.
Dr. Woc-Colburn's clinical interests include tropical diseases in immunosuppressed individuals (including those with HIV), mycotic diseases, orthopedic infections, and medical education. She is passionate about teaching the next generation of healthcare workers about infectious disease topics and empowering women and BIPOC individuals in medicine.
