Katie Cinnamon, PharmD, BCPS, BCIDP completed her undergraduate studies at North Dakota State University and graduated from the NDSU School of Pharmacy in 2008. She completed a PGY-1 residency at the VA Medical Center in Fargo, ND. After residency, she was a lead clinical pharmacist at Genesis Medical Center in Davenport, IA, for 7 years. While at Genesis, she led a variety of clinical initiatives and became board certified in pharmacotherapy. She then transitioned into an infectious diseases role and helped Genesis develop their antimicrobial stewardship program. In 2016, she started working for UW Heath in Madison, WI, as a medicine and infectious diseases pharmacist. She became board certified in infectious diseases and primarily worked in the inpatient medicine units, inpatient infectious diseases consults/antimicrobial stewardship, and the HIV/ID clinic. In 2022, she also became the co-chair of the UW Ambulatory Care Stewardship Committee. Katie has been an active member of the Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists (SIDP) since 2016 and was elected as chair of the SIDP Antimicrobial Stewardship Committee in 2023-2024. As of March 2023, she currently serves veterans at the Madison VA Hospital as an infectious diseases/antimicrobial stewardship pharmacist and is the Antimicrobial Stewardship Program Pharmacy Co-Director.
